My brother in-law was diagnosed with CML on August 13, 2005. Needless to say that we were all thrown into sadness and depression. My husband and his brother wept all day saturday. What make it worse is that he's back in our home country Nigeria where medical care/technology is not as up to date as it is here. We all got on-line to find out all we can about CML and learned about the wonder drug Gleevac and how expensive it is. The setback is that without any medical insurance in Nigeria, we have to pay for it out of pocket. Does anyone know of a way or place to get Gleevac cheaper. We also learned about VEENAT, a generic form of Gleevac manufactured in India. Has anyone tried this? Is it the same as Gleevac and does anyone know how we can get it. Any information and/or advice will be most appreciated.
