Dear Rakesh, I also had elevated CPK levels at
Christmas time. I had choked on some nuts and had to go to the emergency room. I
also ended up with a migraine. The doctors thought that the elevation was due to
the migraine or the choking incident. I later learned that this increase
is sometimes seen in patients on gleevec who are in MMR. My cardiologist was not

Hello All,
I hope everyone is doing well. I am a
CML-Chronic patient and I read
the group messages every now and then.
I am on 400mg of Gleevec and in remission by FISH. In my recent blood
work the CPK or CK values were very high, close to 529. Has anyone else
on Gleevec seen this?
Does anyone know what does this mean? On
Gleevec site it says it may
increase CK/CPK however what are the long term
side effects of having
higher CK/CPK? What else can cause this to be
high?
