Greetings,
I have not been active on the list for
the last several months, and
reading again, I notice lots of new
names. I hope the "old folks"
like me are still around and doing
well...
I just had to post to tell you today is the 10th anniversary of
my
diagnosis with CML, and the 5th anniversary of my first dose of
Gleevec. Needless to say I am a much happier camper the last five
years than the four years before that when I was taking large doses
of
Interferon. My PCR alternates between negative and barely
positive, so I'm
doing well. For those of you newly diagnosed, take
heart!
To
celebrate, I have formed a team ("Team Ten Years') to do the LLS'
Light
the Night Walk here in Seattle on September 17. I'm the VP of
the Board of
Trustees for the Washington/Alaska Chapter. The LLS was
and is a major
funder of Dr. Druker's research, so I believe in what
they do whole
heartedly. I welcome any and all contributions to the
effort. My
