Pat- Hello, my name is Lisa. This is the first time that I have posted to this sight, but I do read it most everyday. I am sorry to hear that you are dealing with a rash. My husband David was diagnosed with CML in October 2004 at the age of 35. He soon began Gleevec 800mg when he was diagnosed. After 9 months on Gleevec he developed a severe blistering rash over 90% of his body. The rash was identified as a drug eruption by a skin biopsy. He stopped Gleevec for 2 weeks, took steroids and currently on 400mg of Gleevec. He is still fighting the rash at this time. He is doing well, but the rash can be a pest. I have photo's of the rash when it was very severe that I could email to you, but I have read that these rashes from Gleevec can vary in severity and appearance, so keep an eye on things and you can always see a dermatologist to get a skin biopsy for the patologist to look at the skin cells to identify the rash. David uses a steroid cream daily called Kenalog and he also takes an antihistimine daily, which was perscribed by his treating oncologist. Hope this helps. I was wondering I had two years of hives prior to diagnosis( this was part of the missed diagnosis) and just completed 6 months of 400 gleevac. I just recently started with the body rash, it seems to be different that the hives thay are not elevated and large patches. Is anybody else suffering and have any ideas on what to do besides taking another pill. Natural remedies is all I am looking for.ThanksPatDX 2/05Undetectable by fish 8/05
