Hello all,
I haven't posted in a while but i still read as many postings as i can, for the newbies, my name is Priscilla, i am the mother of Simone age 13, dx'ed sept/02.  Simone came up with a rash not too long ago, it started off the same as Brenda's, it was between her fingers then gradually spread, luckily it was on her hands only, nowhere else on her body. I took her to her doctor and he called and passed on the info to her oncologist, they determined what she had was a bacteria called MSRA, its a penicillin resistant bacteria.  She was put on cephalexin and also given some cream to use, she's doing very well with it.  Hope this may be of some help.

The rash I had for the first 6 mos was on my palms, it started as a red
blotch and then started looking like it was going to turn to a blister,
then never did really but eventually dried out.  Mine ran it course and
then disappeared and I've not had a problem since.  When you first
start on Gleevec there is bone pain, some say it's the medicine killing
the leuk cells, then mucsle cramping.  The breathing isn't a familiar
one and you should call your doc or the nurse and ask.  Fatigue will be
the big one and that too eventually improve with time.  I hope you have
a great and quick response to the Gleevec.  Take care!
