hope you took the advice and called your doctor regarding the pain with deep breaths.  That is never a normal occurrence and could be the symptom for something more serious.  Rembering that Gleevec affects blood counts which can affect clotting factors, need to get it checked out.
I just want to warn people about what happened to me this summer. I had pain breathing and could not figure out the cause, because all of the x-rays, cat scans, etc. showed nothing wrong!!!  It got worse as weeks went by, and finally a very good doctor came to take a look at me and figured out right away that the cause was a broken rib. He told me that he believed that the break was just not showing in the tests, so we did a full body scan and sure enough, they found the break.  He mentioned to me that because I have been on Gleevec for so long, that breaks could be caused more easily. Yet, we found no lesions or anything else that looked odd in the bone testing.  Just wanted to let you know that sometimes a broken rib can go unnoticed and mistaken for other things. Not saying that's what you have but just wanted to share what happened to me. Hope your problem resolves quickly!!! - Lynne A.
