Hi All This is my first post - I kind of forgot that I joined the group!! I'm a 33yo Australian (in Adelaide) and was dx in May 05. I've been on 800mg Glivec since August 05 and apart from the usual side effects I seem to be doing fairly well - bloods all normal and pcr down to 0.6 and hopefully continuing to drop.
I see there are a few Aussies in this group and I was wondering if any of you have had experience with travel insurance?? My wife and I were due to go to Bali just after I was dx but didn't go, luckily the travel insurer covered the cost of cancelling the trip. We are now thinking of heading to the US/UK/Europe later this year and before I start looking into travel insurance I thought I would see what people's experience had been in Australia becuase most of the CML sites only talk about travel insurance in the US/UK. I am guessing that things will be more complicated now that I have been dx. Cheers Adam New!
