Hi Amit, Your Dad's blood count does not show any blasts and neither does his marrow, so I do not think he is in blast crisis. Your Dad's Hemoglobin count is very low and so is his red blood cell count. So, the doctor is doing the Coomb's test to find out why the red blood cell count is so low and why he is having anemia. Antibodies are proteins from the immune system that attack foreign invaders to the body. Sometimes, antibodies can attack the patient's own cells and this is called autoimmune disease. A patient can have autoimmune anemia where the antibodies attack and destroy the body's own red blood cells. Coomb's test finds out whether your Dad's red blood cells are being destroyed by antibodies, see the link below.
