I've scanned the list but can't seem to post the scan so I have typed
the document as is. The ??? are where the paper was hole punched. I
can not tell you where this information came from originally, only that
we were given a photo copy.

????tro human liver microsome, studies show imatinib mesylate to ???
competitive inhibitor of CYP2C9, CYP2D6 and CYP3A4/5, suggesting that
it could reduce the clearance of co-administered drugs whose metabolism
is dependent on these P450 cytochrome isoenzymes. Studies show that
CYP3A4 is the major human p450 enzyme catalyzing the biotransformation
of imatinib mesylate, thus co-administration of drugs which are
inducers or inhibitors of this enzyme system could decrease or increase
blood imatinib mesylate concentrations, respectively. Medications
which interfere with CYP3A4/5 should therefore be avoided. These
includes the following medications and foods: carbamazepine,
phenytoin, Phenobarbital, grapefruit juice, erythromycin, azithromycin,
clarithromycin, rifampin and its analogs, fluconazole, ketoconazole,
itraconazole, cimetidine, cannabinoids (marijuana or dronabinol), St.
John's Wort and the leuketriene inhibitors used in asthma such as
zafirleukast and zileuton (See appendix for extended list). In
addition, drug interactions in patients receiving prochlorperazine
(Compazine) and coumadin are possible. Patients who require
prochlorperazine during therapy should be monitored for akathisia.
Because of the potential for serious hemorrhage coumadin may not be
used. In addition, there has been one fatal hepatotoxic event in an
adult taking acetaminophen. Acetaminophen should not be taken in
greater that the recommended dose.
