Dear Allyson,

Do not worry. You will be fine. You are at very low levels of
disease and now that you are only on Gleevec, side-effects will be more
tolerable. Many in our community travel. My husband went on a US trip
one year after diagnosis and he was fine. He only took one extra
Gleevec dose with him and then the flight was delayed in Seattle. So,
take some extra Gleevec with you just in case. Some patients ask for
seats near the bathroom in the airplane because of Gleevec diarrhea.
And we have a worldwide patient community, if you are stranded
somewhere and need to get to a hematologist, just post on the list and
someone from that area may very well be able to take you to their
hematologist. But, you will be fine.

Best Wishes,
Anjana
