The 8-16-06 digest included a message offering psychic healing/surgery. There is no scientific basis whatsoever for psychic healing of any kind. I personally feel that such offers do not belong in our group- or any other group- because they offer false hope to those who may be desperate and who may be vulnerable. In my own experience a daughter whose husband was dying from pancreatic cancer in her desperation paid money she could ill afford to a "healing touch" practitioner. It may be argued that members have a right to post whatever they wish. But offers to heal through non-traditional and discredited means and which may attract the gullible or the uninformed should not be welcomed. I suspect also that the "psychic healer/surgeon" is not a member, and that despite professing otherwise there may be monetary requests at some point.
