Hi Gwen, I am a patient of Dr. Mauro's at OHSU. I have been taking Gleevec for 41/2 years. After making it to zero, my PCR started gradually creeping up to .5. Dr. Mauro put me on a low dose of interferon for 8 months along with the Gleevec. It was no fun, but I continued working and I have been off interferon for four months. (Hurrah!) My PCR is now not quantifiable but still shows as positive. It has remained steady at that level for several PCRs. I guess the thinking is that with those who did respond to Interferon, the response was durable, so perhaps this durability will help in combination with Gleevec. Take care, Lynn
