Richard was the first to post about flax seed oil and I was the second,
acting on Richard's advice. I've found it helps hair, nails and skin.
I've been taking it now (1000 mg 2X/day) for about 4 months. Not only
is my hair softer than it ever was, I've lost a lot of gray! My nails
are much less brittle and my wife says my skin feels like that of a
young person.

You won't be able to get rid of the edema, but preparation H, an
astringent, will help under the eyes. I've read that dandelion root is
an effective diuretic, and I started taking it a few days ago. So far
I haven't noticed any difference.

I went to a doctor expert on water retention. He is strongly against
using prescription diuretics unless the condition seriously interferes
with one's ability to function. He said he would not prescribe for me
as long as the retained water was less than 15% of my normal body
weight. Since my normal weight is about 200, that means I'd have to be
retaining 30 pounds of water. He estimated 20-25 pounds for me.
