I have been on Gleevec in study 106 since it started in 2001.  I reached CCR in that year and have remained there ever since. My 400 mg daily were reduced to 300 mg in 2002, and all my results have been fine since then.
I had 2 mild heart attacks in May 2003. At no time did my doctors ever entertain the possibility that this was in any way related to Gleevec. I have been diabetic since 1997, and my family cardiac history  makes it quite clear that I was in line for this sort of thing.  I would really like to think that there are many other factors at play besides Gleevec in causing cardiac events.
Apparently I have made (dubious) history in being the first recorded case of lupus along with Gleevec.  Some people have ALL the luck...go figure!
