I find that if I take my Gleevec with a large breakfast it won't cause the
reflux.
I can't take it with anything with acid or highly seasoned so breakfast is a
mild meal and it has been good for me.
I don't take anything other than an occasional rolaid for indigestion.
Good luck,

Yes, Gleevec absolutely does cause acid reflux for many of us.
Besides taking Rx Prevacid or Nexium on an empty stomach in the
morning, I found that I also had to take the Gleevec in split
doses...half in the a.m. and half in the p.m. and always immediately
after a meal. I also avoided any acid foods such as tomatoes, soft
drinks or coffee before taking Gleevec, saving my coffee drinking for
the lunch hour after my esophagus healed, which took several months.
I've had no great problem of that sort since then. Do let us all
know what your gastroenterologist says, how he goes about treating the
problem, and how that particular treatment works. The more
information we all have, the better off we all are. We all hope you
get a handle on this problem very quickly. Vivi
