Hello All, Just a short note to update you on an event that was held in Vancouver B.C. Canada with the CML Society of Canada.
A group of CMLers, led by the Patient Advisory Board of the CML Society and joined by friends family and co-workers trekked up Grouse Mountain. Here are some stats on Grouse Mountain which is also referred to as the Grouse Grind: Length of Grouse Grind: 2.9 km (1.8 miles) Grouse Grind elevation gain: 853 metres (2,800 feet) Average completion time: 1.5 hours The Grind is un-relentless, there is not one part that is flat. From the very bottom to the top, it is a very steep climb. Tim, a fellow CMLer made the trek in 40 minutes! Everyone who intended to climb completed the climb. From 40 minutes to 2 hours (but with lots of time to stop on the trail, take pictures and just take in the natural beauty of the mountain). A slide show will be added to the CML Society website shortly. For the record patients on almost every available treatment participated and succeeded in climbing. Patients on Gleevec, Sprycel and Interferon. We had a fantastic time and who knows, this just may become an annual event! Cheers to all, Cheryl-Anne www.cmlsociety.org --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ [CMLHope] A support group of http://cmlhope.com ------------------------------------------------- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "CMLHope" group.
