Well Rich has me thinking!
Although I'm still very new to CML and Gleevec, Gleevec wasted no time
presenting me with a variety of side effects but not cold extremities.
Which I sort of expected because I run the air conditioner less and
the heater more than most folks.
Anyway what Rich has me thinking about is the fact that I haven't
drunk caffeinated beverages for close to 20 years. Caffeine is a
vascular constrictor (which also makes it a bad choice for a work-out
beverage but helpful for headaches). So maybe cutting down on caffeine
might help. I wouldn't advise trying to go cold-turkey especially if
they already know what you want when you walk into Starbucks! Many
hospitals have amended their no liquids after midnight policy before
surgery to except a cup of coffee because studies showed hospital
stays were being extended by caffeine withdrawal symptoms.
Just an idea.
