Hey Jeanie. . .
Yesssss, the Gleevec is good; because medications are kept in the warehouses
for years. I heard a rumor years ago that medications had a shelf life of 8
years. I know for a fact that a 'generic' foreign medication that was
discontinued due to a lawsuit by a USA pharmaceutical company stated that they
had 1 1/2 years of the medication in stock during the suit. That medication
continues to be dispensed; and most likely will be until the last pill is
swallowed (hehehe).
I personally was dispensed a manufacturer bottle of Gleevec in 2/2004 with an
expiration date of 2/2009; therefore, a shelf life of 5 years existed for that
particular lot. I believe I would be given those pills in 2/2009 but not in
the manufacturer bottle (hehehe). I am not a medical professional; have never
portrayed one on TV, nor do I aspire to be in another life. This is FYI/my 2
cents only. . ."K"
