Hey Jeanie, Pat, Barb & ALL my Sister & Brother Survivors. . . Having 15+ fatal/terminal/chronic diseases. . .all of which I call Chronic Illnesses at my diagnosis 11/21/2003 and being given 2-5 months morbid mortality at that time. Now I am in my 5th year as a Survivor and have 22+ Chronic Illnesses. I recently spent 7 days in-patient due to the exasperation of my COPD~~Chronic Bronchitis and had to call my H/O today after eating grilled pork chops and veggies over the weekend. I have Edema from my knees to toes. . . all from 'my special seasoning' marinade of the chops & veggies. . .this is my 1x this season enjoying the pig & salt . . .hehehe. He prescribed the Lasix & Potassium for only 5 days. It brought the memory of my Mother, a diabetic; eating fried fish & chicken (not together) and saying 'you can taste poison, but you can't drink the entire bottle. . .or something to that effect (hehehe). . .and telling me. . .do as I say, not as I do'. Shortly after diagnosis, I saw a former co-worker at my former PCP. She & her hubby had retired also and purchased an RV with plans to travel and he had been diagnosed with brain cancer. He told me that we spend the 1st 50 years of our lives doing any and everything to destroy our health. . .and the remainder of our lives is spent trying to recapture our health and lost youth. They planned to travel as long as he 'functioned' and then he wanted her to get him a care-taker and continue to travel. After my diagnosis, I spent my life-savings, the children's inheritance, and I Survived (hehehe). Now I am enjoying each day. . . "I AM A SURVIVOR. . .I AIN'T FINISHED YET " ! ! ! I heard a news item about teens not having jobs this summer and that they had already began targeting Seniors on the 1st & 3rd of the month; and also the homeless. . .knowing they carry ALL their money. One elderly gentleman was beat with his own cane in a major city. Also this 'meth', which is supposedly worse than 'crack' and can be made from products normally in kitchens & bathrooms. A friend of mine sold a 300+ unit apartment building in a 'good' neighborhood that he had professionally managed due to problems with teen~~drug dealers who paid Seniors to rent a unit for their use. Take care, and each of you, enjoy each & every day you are blessed with. I think of my Sister Survivor Lisa, we were emailing privately; and I had planned to call her for My Day ~~ Mother's Day. . . Shortly after my son when into the military, I opened an account so that he could send me photos via his cellphone. Sometime later, some identity theft was done through myspace; hackers were able to access main internet accounts and steal identities. This is FYI~~my 2 cents only.
