Hi,
CML diagnosed Sept. 1998, tried "all" avenues with no success,
gained over thirty plus pounds. Started with Gleevec trials in
2000. As soon as stabilized, I started on South Beach Diet until
could lose the extra thirty plus pounds. I take Gleevec after
supper meal, and careful not to use any other drugs or supplements
that would cause conflict with Gleevec. Exercise daily and try to
maintain a good diet. I have gained back five pounds over the total
period, but am satisfied with current weight, I have been in the
zero club for many years. Suggest you take the Gleevec when your
body will best accept it, and only you can determine what works best
for you. Even if you do not need the South Beach diet, the book is
work the expenditure as it helps you to review what is considered
"good" food. You will probably be surprised to learn that some food
that you considered to be OK is not acceptable as the process used in
preserving the food may affect you in a negative manner. Good luck
on your journey.
Ken
