Hi Skip I was glad Zavie told you to post. I was on gleevec for 5years. I started Nilotinib (tasiga) the end of December because of gleevec intolerance.( Can you believe that?) and they wanted me off gleevec for 7-10 days before I began tasigna. I think the reason was to let one drug get out of the system before I began another one. At any rate, tasigna gave me intense side effects at 800 mg so again they switched me from 800 to 400 mg. BUT, again they told me to take a break in between. I am very surprised you began one drug right after finishing another. I missed the 'chat' and will try to get on Tuesday night. I am in the throws of 'end-of-the-year' things at school that are keeping me pretty busy. I am glad the side effects have subsided and I wish you well. My goodness, a 30 year suvivor... what hope you give us all.
