Hi Suzzie, I guess you and I can go crazy together. What are these Onc thinking? Here we are, so worried over our counts, and they could care less. I faxed my Onc to send in an order for a blood test, cbc and cpn. The nurse took it upon herself to tell me that they couldn't do that because my primary care doctor had to take care of it; now I am talking about my Onc that I have had for almost 5 years. He needs my cbcs to determine what treatment I should get. He always writes the orders for blood test. I am to sick to beg for blood test. I am just going to let my Primary take care of it. I had people telling me years ago to change Oncs but I stuck faithfully with him. Now, I realize he doesn't ever believe in PCRs. I had been begging him to do one for the last few months. Don't get too worried over the platelets being low. They can go quite low before you are in trouble, but it needs to be taken care of. I think mine had dropped to 20 at one time. Hi Everyone: I am the one with the low platelet count, and now I finally got my paperwork to go for additional testing. This sounds crazy to me, but he is testing me for Hepatitis and Lupus. Until I brought the low platelets to his attention, he did not even want to see me till January. He told me I was doing great. He has some other codes on the paperwork for other additional testing. This does not make sense to me, especially since some of you have told me that the low platelets can happen. I am just beside myself today.
