I have 2 ONC's and both recommend that when my Hemg reaches 8 that I head to the hoospital for type and match and 2 pints. I had transfusions from Nov 2006 thru May 2007. I went off 400mg Gleevec and my counts started to rise on their own. In Jan. 2008 I was again detectable so went back on 400mg Gleevec. In June I had a relapse and had to have one transfusion and started Procrit shots and again started a Gleevec Vacation. I see the ONC on Thursday to get my Q-PCR reading and find what our next course of action will be. After my results it was no contest for me to return to Gleevec Vacation when I needed the Transfusion. In May I had my Q-PCR and I had returned to Q- PCR .000. I am offically diagnosed as CML with Iron Deficient Anemina. It took me from Nov. 2006 to May 2008 to get my 2 ONC's and MDAnderson to agree for me to take the Vacation. The Procrit has built my hemg to almost 11 and will have to stop taking the shot when I go above a hemg 11. Hope this helps.
