In a message dated 12/7/2008 2:15:49 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, Hi SkipD, Well, everything went well; I went in early and they started the transfusion about 9:30. I was done about 4:oo. They tried to speed it up, but my blood pressure went up to high. How do you get yours done so fast? I'm getting REd Blood Cells; does that make a difference? I read somewhere on a childs leukemia site that all the Doctor has to do is look at the rim of your bottom eye lids; if they are pink you are good. Mine were completely white, but now they are pink. Also press on you finger nails; if the pink come right back up you are good. Do they give you Benedral before the transfusion? They gave me Benedral and lassix. I had breakfast and lunch; pretty good for a hospital. My doctor came in to see me and he said I was ready to go on my cruise. Thanks for the uplift. Blessings, Jeanie<3 [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes:
Jeanie I hope you get lots of energy, and that you have a wonderful trip. I got two bags of HGB Tuesday, it only takes two hours a bag here and about half hour for flush. I get nothing like a breakfast, or for that matter anything. They do not disconnect for anything. Although I can walk around taking my slim jim with me. I do like the idea of something to eat but not the 8 hours SkipD dx'ed 30++++ **************Make your life easier with all your friends, email, and favorite sites in one place. Try it now.
