Hi Amy, I have gone to UCLA since I was diagnosed 12 years ago. In fact, I was in the original Phase 1 trial for STI 571 (Gleevec) there. UCLA has run many Spycel trials and trials for other CML drugs also and the doctor who is in charge is Ron Paquette. He's very knowledgeable and compassionate and he's been my doctor there since Charles Sawyers left to go to Sloan Kettering in New York. Since he has been closely involved with many, many CML patients since the Gleevec trials, Dr. Paquette is a real expert who is always involved in CML research. There are also doctors at City of Hope who see lots of CML patients. I have friends who see Ravi Bhatia (who is doing CML stem cell research) and Dr. Snyder (I don't know his first name.)
