I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in? 2004 & had it removed. In 2005 I was
diagnosed with CML & have been on

gleevec? ever since with good results. In October 2008 my psa was up again
without a prostate!? I was told by my
urologist that 85% the cancer was in the prostate bed & 15% chance it was in
the bone. I underwent 33 radiation
treatments & my psa was negative as of two months ago.??I'll just have to go
for?all my tests & keep praying that
everything is ok.?? God bless,
????????????????????? Frank

Subject: [CMLHope] CML and elevated PSA?

My urologist recently said he has noticed an elevation in PSA count in
his patients who were in treatment for CML or CLL, even though the
prostate is supposedly the only organ which generates the PSA enzime.
It does not mean there is cancer of the prostate. My oncologist said
once your are malignant in one area, you may become so in other areas.
Has anyone else (men) seen an elevation of PSA levels since CML
treatment? I take Gleevec and it controls my WBC very well with a few
side effects.
