Hi, Rick...
I (62 yr old female) started Gleevec 8+ yr. ago. Reading your letter made me
smile, because it brought back to mind those early days and the immediate
symptom of taking my morning Gleevec. About 10 min. after the golden
bullets (which I always took with food), I would go into that "fog" and feel so
doped and lethargic. Sometimes I also felt desperately nauseous as well. I
actually would time it. After 20 minutes, I would say that "the clouds have
opened and the sun is out again" because that whole dopey feeling would
suddenly.......VANISH, and I felt fine. You know, I had not thought of that for
a few years. I sincerely hope the same will happen with you. I never get such
feelings anymore. It was just in the first 6 months or so. I was teaching full
time then, and would get up early so that I could eat, and then have a sleep,
before I had to get ready for work. Thank Heavens, I just take the capsules now
and barely even think of CML.
Life goes on....and we adjust.
Best wishes,
Angie in Canada
