Dorothy: Thank you for your post.......I am sorry if I offended you, as that was not my intention........what I posted was an actual article that was on the front page of the USA Today newspaper and it was something that they had covered twice in about two weeks, plus was on the NBC evening news, as well. And, in the newspaper, a picture of Gleevec was included in the article......so, I didn't just make all of this up or pull it out of my hat. The "passing" part (& it said Democrats by majority) was that it had passed through the House and was on it's way to the Senate. I hope that makes sense to you.....I know that there hasn't been an actual health care policy passed yet.......I've been keeping an eye on it. And, I am not blaming just the Democrats (it's what the paper said) because there are some Republicans as well as Independents all involved. And, with all the lobbying going on......money is exchanged and put in "all" pockets pretty much even if it is just by special "favors". "You scratch my back & I'll scratch yours" goes on every single day, I've no doubt.
Soooooo, since this is such a "hot topic" with much debating going on, good or bad, it's good to see that many people are taking interest in their government......of which I thought was always suppose to be "for the people". The last few years, I've felt they've forgotten about the ones who put them in their offices to begin with. When they can pass bills over six & seven hundred pages & even a thousand without even opening them up and reading to see what is inside....then, I know they don't give a flying flip about us or anybody else....... But, with all the stink so many Americans have been causing over this one thing....maybe all our Senators and Congressmen & even our President will see and have their eyes opened to the fact that so many are not happy with what has been going on this past year, and will slow down just a tad bit and do a little "re-tooling" & coming up with something better........and not try to "ram" it right down our throats so fast it makes our heads spin......to wake up three or four years from now and ask ourselves "what happened?"
