Hi Everyone,

I have been reading all of the back and forth about religion, and I have a
few comments to make that will hopefully set everyone strait.

First, for those that do not know me or anything about me I will start by
saying that I had CML more then 21 years ago, and had a BMT in 1989. Ever
since then I have lived basically a decent life, but of course suffer from
some of the things that accompany this kind of transplant, as well as my age
now being 65. Diabetes, Kidney function is slowly taking it's toll,
Cataracts from the Radiation (which I have already had taken care of) and
some other little "goodies" I can do without. However, I am not here
complaining but rather being glad to still be alive to have all of these
little "goodies" that I can, and have to live with, live being the key word
here.

The one thing that I learned about living in a small plastic bubble for more
then seven months in a hospital cancer ward, and having many different kinds
of people with different religions all standing on the outside of that
bubble (Laminous Airflow Chamber) and praying for me to recover. That was a
lesson that I have never forgotten.

And here I come and listen to some bickering about something that should
help us all rather then people becoming annoyed or offended by other peoples
comments. Hey, all of you are basically in the same position and the thing
to do here is to try and comfort and HELP each other. What more important
thing can be offered then help and compassion for each other?

Just so you know when I first became ill there were no places like this to
come to. I had to do this all by myself. I couldn't have the luxury of
getting onto a computer and either ask any questions or get any answers from
anyone but my doctor. All of you have each other and all of you should be
very lucky that you have each other. When something difficult happens to any
one of you then the rest of you can also feel his or her pain and suffering.
When something good happens to one of you then all of the rest feel their
joy as well. I want you to really give some thought to that.

Leukemia is a very powerful disease, and sometimes we may say or do some
things that we wouldn't ordinarily think of saying or doing. Leukemia not
only effects the body but the mind and spirit as well. It is up to you to
make sure you know just what you may be going through and do whatever you
have to in order to succeed.

Now this is not the first time I have run across bickering on one of these
CML groups, (and Rob, you know what I am talking about) and it probably
won't be the last, but the main key here is to listen twice as much as you
speak. Ever wonder why GOD gave us two ears and one mouth? Are you not
suffering so much that you have to continue this, and make it part of what
this site is all about? Of course not, so let's get back to things that
really matter and can help each other.

I just want every one to know that I am always praying for anyone that has
to deal with Leukemia or any other type of cancer. One day this rotten
disease will be eliminated from this earth.

I wish every one that may be reading this health and happiness.
