Hello everyone-

Can someone remind me whether the good prognosis that is expected with a
three log reduction is a three log reduction from one's own pre-treatment
baseline or from some universal measure? Also, does the three log reduction
have to hold for a number of years/months before being considered stable and
of value for prognosis or does one have the favorable prognosis when you
exceed the three log threshold?

I think I achieved a 2 log reduction by month three on Gleevec (assuming you
do the caluculation on your own PCR quantitative baseline values). Finally
all of that econometrics training I subjected myself to in my younger years
come in handy! I am thankfully tolerating the treatment very well so far.
I have a vague recollection from an archived LLS national presentation
featuring Dr Druker that getting a systained CCyR or a CMR (defined as 3
log-- but sustained or not?) suggests a remission that could last about 30
years.

But my recollection is vague-- is there someone else's out there whose
memory is more precise on these matters?

Thanks. I really value this group.

Alan from Baltimore
