Wow! that is a lot of money! Every year when I get the total of what it is costing to keep me alive, I am amazed. My husband never even made that much money in a year. I also had another thought, when I was first dx they said I might live 5 years without treatment. After 5 years on Gleevec, My blood went all out of whack and I was back where I started. Suzieq, Gleevec was approved in May of 2001 if I'm not mistaken. Between then and the end of the year they made in the United States alone, 1.6 Billion dollars on the drug.
