Hi Vivi, I was on Gleevec longer then 10 years, closer to 12 and can't answer that question as it didn't change my blood pressure at all. I am on so many meds for my heart that my blood pressure remains on the low side. I wish I could be more helpful, but haven't heard of it causing a rise in blood pressure, although we all respond different to these meds. I'm now on Tasigna, and it has caused diabetes and high cholesterol, so go figure. Many have complained of the same thing, but my advise would be to have your Oncologist check into it and see if others have had any problems. You take care, and just know that we do read your messages, but perhaps no one has dealt with this problem. Sorry I couldn't help more. I'd posted this question to the group about two weeks ago but no one seemed to have an answer. So I'll re-post the question and hope one of our CML warriors responds: Has anyone had the problem of a sudden rise in blood pressure? I've been on Gleevec for ten years and suddenly, this spring, my blood pressure, which has always been perfectly fine, began to rise. They've put me on medication for the condition but its too soon to tell whether or not it will work for me.
