Hi Gleevec kept my blood counts good for 5 years but then it quit working for me completely. I had blast in my blood and my onc put me on Tasigna which only worked for 8 months. After a battle for my life, I was put on Sprycel; I have been in remission for over a year now, that is not to say I will stay in remission. We just never know when this CML will rear it's ugly head. My first onc insisted on testing every week but just the blood counts. I am now getting checked every 3 months for all. Don't get worried yet, they just want to see what is going on. Good luck, Jeanie<3 In a message dated 5/28/2011 11:12:49 A.M. Pacific Daylight Time, [email protected] writes:
My husband was diagnosed with CML in 2009. His BCR-ABL results were undetectable at the 12 month markc with 400 mg of Gleevec. But, at the 18 month mark his BCR-ABL result was again detectable (.005). He will get retested again in July. Is this a typical experience for CML patients (undetectable then detectable again)? Does it mean that he is becoming resistant to the Gleevec? We would welcome insights from those with more experience with CML. Thank you very much. -- [CMLHope] A support group of http://cmlhope.com ------------------------------------------------- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "CMLHope" group.
