Hi Millie,
There is so much to answer I will write in between your lines so I won't
miss anything.
Hi Marty.....Didn't know that you also have a home in PA. I'm between
Tamaqua and Pottsville in a valley called Lewistown. We've been here
since my husband retired from the Navy forty some years ago. It's quiet
and nice living in the country. I love it. Originally I'm from San
Francisco, but it's been a lot of years. This is home now.
YES, I LIVE IN TWO PLACES. ONE AS YOU ALREADY KNOW, IN BOYNTON BEACH IN
SOUTHEASTERN FLORIDA AND MY SECOND HOME IN A SMALL TOWN CALLED LACKAWAXEN
WHICH IS IN PIKE COUNTY RIGHT OFF OF THE DELAWARE RIVER. THIS REGION IS
CALLED THE UPPER DELAWARE REGION AND IT IS TRULY BEAUTIFUL.
BEFORE WE MOVED TO FLORIDA WE USED TO LIVE IN STATEN ISLAND FOR 35 YEARS
AND SINCE WE HAD SMALL CHILDREN AT THE TIME WE DECIDED TO BUY A HOME IN
PENNSYLVANIA SO THE CHILDREN COULD GO THERE FOR VACATIONS. WE WOULD USUALLY
GO UP THERE ON EVERY HOLIDAY AND WEEKENDS. WE HAVE THIS HOUSE FOR MORE THEN
25 YEARS NOW AND LOVE THE SCENERY. OUR HOME IS ACTUALLY CUT INTO THE
FORREST AND WE HAVE ALL OF THE BEAUTIUL DEER COME VISIT US FOR SNACKS THAT
WE GIVE THEM.
We had storms last night and got 2-3 inches of rain in a short time.
The creek overflowed and it scared me for a while, but we're okay.
Allentown got hit hard. I must go down that way on Wed. morning, so I'm
hoping that the weather will cooperate as I have to be there by 10:00.
If you ever get down this way....you would always be welcome to stop by.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INVITATION BUT SINCE I HAVE TO GO TO GET DIALYSIS
TREATMENTS EVERY MON, WED AND FRIDAY IT WOULD BE VERY DIFFICULT FOR ME. I
WAS LUCKY TO BE ABLE TO FIND DIALYSIS CENTER UP HERE IN A TOWN CALLED
HONESDALE WHICH IS ABOUT FOURTY MINUTES AWAY FROM HERE. BEFORE I LEFT
FLORIDA I HAD TO GET A TREATMENT AT 3:00 AM OF FRIDAY MORNING THEN SPENT
TWO DAYS ON THE ROAD DRIVING UP HERE AND THEN ON MONDAY MORNING BACK TOME
DIALYSIS TREATMENT. IT IS NOT FUN BUT I HAVE TO DO IT IN ORDER TO SURVIVE.
Today I'm busy cooking for Memorial Day tomorrow. I am not going
overboard, but will make another pie since the strawberry one is gone.
I'll make a lemon sponge, which they love too. Hope that your Memorial
Day is a good one.
IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR A REAL GOOD COOK. STRAWBERRY PIE... YUMMY!!! MY
FAVORITE IS CHERRY OR PECAN PIE. BUT DON'T PUT ANY OF THEM IN FRONT OF ME
BECAUSE I WILL GOBBLE THEM UP
Take care of yourself. I will have blood work done soon and talk to my
doctors. My heart medication lowers my blood pressure and they won't
change that. Like you, I deal with other things besides the CML, so just
thank God that I'm still here and able to do a few things.
YES THANK GOD THAT WE ARE BOTH STILL HERE. I WISH YOU GOOD LUCK ON YOUR
BLOOD TEST.
I'm also Diabetic and so can't have to much pie, etc......:>)))))
WELL I USED TO BE DIABETIC AND HAD A STEM CELL PROCEDURE CONSISTING OF A
LOT OF NEUPOGEN INJECTIONS AND MY DIABETES DISAPPEARED. ALSO THERE IS
ANOTHER REASON. WHEN YOUR KIDNEYS FAIL YOUR BODY PRODUCES MORE INSULIN AND
IT MATOBLIZES IT FASTER. BET YOU DIDN'T KNOW THAT...
Blessings and 18's to you and yours,
Millie
AND RIGHR BACK AT YOU. MANY 18'S TO YOU MILLIE, STAY WELL AND GOD BLESS YOU.
MARTY
