Hi everyone - I work with multiple health media companies. It is perfectly acceptable to share information from an online site such as About.com, and in fact is very much welcomed as that's how they get backlinks and boost rankings for their site in search engines. To do so, the source should be mentioned and the link should be provided. It is not acceptable to take information from an online media company and pass it on as if it is one's own work and that's where people can inadvertently get into trouble.
