That's an excellent point, Richard! There is such a thing as water poisoning.I found a good short article about how much water to drink by the Mayo Clinic http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/water/NU00283 Unless you have a problem with one or more of the ingredients like sodium or potassium I'd say throw in a Gatorade if you get above the "8 glasses a day" level. And of course - talk to your doctor! And everyone should know the signs of dehydration - http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/dehydration/DS00561/DSECTION=symptoms . It can happen even in the hospital. Maybe I can detail what we went through in the hospital at a later point in time.Patrick --- On Wed, 12/19/12, Richard H <[email protected]> wrote:

I would like to add a caution. 18 months ago I was in the hospital for 2 days replacing my soidum because of drinking too much fluid. Since I was't taking Gleevec any more and still on water pills I was having the reverse effect of over hydrating. All of my doctors kept telling me to drink more water but none told me that I needed reduce the amount of fluids by about 50%. Good luck, and happy hydration. Richard H. I do drink quite a bit already, but will try to do better. I also will probably have to increase my water pill to 2 a day, so I'll give that a try too. The doctors should tell you all of this, and then you wouldn't have to guess. You have a wonderful Holiday Season.
