Hi Marty & Skip. My surviving CML is the second time the Lord has chosen to allow me to remain on this earth awhile longer. The first was in 1947 when I was only 21 months old I had Bacterial meningitis complicated by the presence of pneumonia that was there because of a spinal tap being done in a room with other babies that had pneumonia. I was saved by Dr. Loyal Davis renowned neuralgical surgeon of that time. His adopted daughter Nancy was to later become Mrs. Ronald Reagan. Small world isn"t it? In 1997 I was DXED with CML in Dec of 1999 was told I had about a year and a half to live acct of bad things in my BM draw. I was on Interferon then and in 2001 along came Gleevic, I was in remission in April of 2002. I think of how lucky I am every single day and everyday I thank God for yet another chance at life and being able to see my children grow up! I would not change my ways I think that the Lord loves me the way I am! I wish all the warriors of this killer the very best in their fight against it! May God watch over all of us. Jim Rodeghier

Just because you have a disease like CML it shouldn't change your life so much that it effects the way you are, and how you live. A 65 year old woman had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital. While on the operating table she had a near death experience.. Seeing God she asked "Is my time up?" God said, "No, you have another 33 years, 2 months and 8 days to live." Upon recovery, the woman decided to stay in the hospital and have a face-lift, liposuction, breast implants and a tummy tuck. Since she had so much more time to live, she figured she might as well make the most of it. She even had someone come in and change her hair color and brighten herteeth! . Finally, after her last operation, she was released from the hospital. While crossing the street on her way home, she was killed by atruck. Arriving in front of God, she demanded, "I thought you said I had another 33 years? Why didn't you pull me out of the path of the truck?" God replied: "Sorry, I didn't recognize you." People think that CML will cause their death.
