I've been putting off writing this as I don't want to upset anyone. My Gastroenterologist diagnosed me with liver disease and it's most probably caused by the Tasigna. I'm trying to handle it right now, and doing fairly well. There is no cure, but because he wants echo's of the liver every 6 mo., it gave me some hope. I'm off of the Tasigna right now, but don't know what my Oncologist will do when I need to be back on it again. I'm hoping that I can stay off of it for a while though. My Oncologist asked me if they had done a biopsy of the liver, and I really don't think so. They did go down into my stomach and took biopsies of some things, but at that time, I don't think they did one of the liver. I'm sure he'll call the Doctor who diagnosed me and talk to him, and if it wasn't done, will probably want one. He has been so good to me and even calls me every few days to talk to me. I've been his patient for 20 years, and that's a very long time to have a cancer patient I'm sure....At this point, I consider him a friend. I'm just telling you all that I am taking one day at a time and not letting myself get down over this. I have things to do, and need to work on my "Bucket List". I'm still under home care and hope that will last for a while, as I'm weak from everything I've been through lately, so it helps having them here. I will try to keep you up on what's happening with me and would appreciate your prayers. I always knew that there would be side effects...not only from the Tasigna, but other drugs that they have had me on. I'm not depressed and will try to stay that way. As I tell everyone, I'm a tough old cookie and plan on staying that way. Many hugs and lots of prayers, Millie
