I certainly don't understand our disability system. As you say, Beth, it's broken. I know a lady that is getting it because of mental stress when she works. This lady is so smart and has graduated at the top of her class in everything she has tried to do. She's an RN, but can't take the stress of dealing with patients, She also went to school for secretarial work, and can't work at that either, and there's another, but can't think of it right now. Why isn't the stress of getting these credentials more then working. It's not that she's ever been turned down for a job, but they never last as she quits due to stress. Now if someone like that can get disability, why can't people who are to ill to work. I can't figure it out. I keep saying to get a good lawyer as that's half of the battle, and keep applying as sooner or later they tend to give it to you. How can people who are getting dialysis work when they spend the greater part of three days a week getting the procedure. Our government is so messed up and hopes of seeing it straighten out seem slim to none. That's my opinion though, and others have theirs. I hope the best for those in these situations. The stress certainly doesn't help our fight against CML. I'll keep hoping things will change....Blessings and hugs, Millie
