I love cranberry jellied in a can and it is so sweet. The whole berry is
good.
We feed the cranes too when we fish. They are always hanging around for a
free meal.

Grace buys the cranberry juice with no sugar added. It's not bad just add
a very large glass of Voka to it. I'm just kidding, I don't drink.

Greenie if you can buy the cranberry juice that isn't a cocktail juice.
That juice is way too sweet. You can find it in a bottle and all it has is
cranberry juice. Mix it with lemon and a lot of water. Real cranberry
juice is bitter so you need to dilute it.
Just a thought.

Marty, God bless you for naming one of your Canaries Greenie. Now,
their's two of us out their. I took your advice and I dropped my intake of
Coke,
coffee and started drinking more water plus the Cranberry juice. It's in
the ice box, Grace drinks some every day so that's no problem.

Hi Greenie,

First I don't know if you know that I raise and breed beautiful Canaries.
I have been doing that for over 50 years and there was one green one born
last breeding season. I named it Greenie just for you.

OK now to things about your kidneys. If your creatnine level is under one
or even a bit above then your alright. You need to be watching for anything
over 1.5 or so. Even at that your still going fine. However when you start
to notice it climbing then you may have some problems.

My kidneys failed about two years ago and my Creatinine levels now are
someware around 8 or sometimes a bit higher so I am on dialysis and waiting
for a kidney transplant. My problems started more then 24 years ago when I
had my bone marrow transplant. Kidneys don't like high dose Chemo or total
body radiation.

My advice to anyone that is reading this is to start drinking Cranberry
juice. That is unless your a diabetic. If so then you must watch your suger
levels. Cranberry juice actually washes out your kidneys.

That's right, It seems when we take a test, something always comes up.
Also like to mention that the cat scan they did on me cost almost $6,000
and my onc said they needed a followup in 6 months. It's kinda weird
because he didn't seem to be worried about anything the cat scan said. It
didn't
solve me pain side at all, and that was what I was looking for.
Go figure!

Hi Jeanie, I went into some of my files going back to 1997 and my

Right Greenie,
I think my levels were high at one time. My cat scan showed small lesions
on both my kidneys. I wonder if this is due to the meds?
Doctor didn't seem to worried about it.
Thanks for the update.

Hi Jeanie and my fellow CML'ers, Received my test results back on my
creatinine levels and it dropped one point. From 1.65 to 1.55. I'm drinking
more water and cranberry juice. Didn't come down a lot but it's better
then going up higher.

Take care,

Hi Greenie good to hear from you. I just got this recipe from my daughter
for your kidneys. She is good at this kind of health info.
In one gallon of water squeeze the juice one 4 lemons. Add 1 cup of all
natural cranberry juice, mix well and drink all day. Get the cranberry
juice that comes in a bottle with nothing added and use fresh lemons.
Also you can make fresh cucumber juice. In a gallon of water add 1
chopped cucumber and 1 juiced cucumber. Zip all day.
You are just like me; I don't drink my water like I should. I drink
coffee in the morning and tea for lunch and try to have my water in the
evening.
My Cat Scan showed small lesions on both kidneys but the doctor said it
was nothing to worry about. These meds have to be washed out, so if we skimp
on water, our kidneys will get clogged.
How did you eye surgery go? I miss that post.
Good luck and get to drinking.
Blessings,
Jeanie<3

Hi Group, I had my 6 month blood work performed last Wed. and my results
came back O. K. put my creatinine levels were high again. Back in 1997 I
found some of my blood work and the results were 1.3. Over the years and
being on Gleevec for over 13 years my levels range between 1.2 to 1.4 all the
time. The last 6 months in May it went up to 1.5. and last Wed. it went
up to 1.6. My Internist wants be to get blood work in 2 weeks and
depending on the results then he wants me to get and us renal sonogram to see
what's going on. I'm not one for drinking a lot of fluids, in the morning I
have two cups of coffee, at lunch I have a can of coke, at dinner I have
another can of coke then before bed time when I take my blood pressure pill I
will drink some water. I know that I should be drinking more fluids put I
don't like water. So my wife went out and purchased a case of water with
favor in it. I will drink a beer maybe 3 to 4 times a month with dinner but
no hard stuff. I don't smoke gave that up many years ago. If anyone have
some input as to what I can do to lower my counts. I only have to get
blood work every 6 months, if fact my Doctor in Chicago told me in May when I
went to see her she said that I only have to get my blood work when I come
to see her. I asked her if it would be O. K. if I did it once a year down
here in Florida that way I know what's going on every 6 months. Let's
face it we all worry some what about what's going on in how bodies. That
would make me feel better cause I'm worried.

Take care,

Thanks, Patrick, very useful information!

I am just wondering....... one qualification is, to have achieved MR4.5.
What does MR4.5 mean in plain English? I am guessing that it means a 4.5
log reduction, but I am not sure.
The other thing is, what happens if after 2 years you lose MMR? Do they
still give you free Tasigna for another 3 years or do they say "We've got our
answer, you're out of here" ?

Just thinking out loud..........
