Dear Marcie, I've been on Gleevec since it was approved in the USA. It took a few years before I experienced my first encounter with bone pain. I had read about it in this forum and immediately realized what was going on. It hit totally unexpected just below my left knee, kind of a strange feeling at first that turned into some thing to scream about in a matter of moments! I had my wife get some towels soaked in hot water and we have very hot water, but it was to no avail. The pain became worse as time passed and then when I wanted to give up, it simply stopped! The entire thing was about 20 minutes in duration. It left me sore but the severe pain suddenly quit.
Just hang in there for me they came farther and farther apart as time passed. The pain was well worth the gain of living all these extra years, seeing four grandchildren born and growing up healthy.
