Hello to everyone, Now you all know why I do what I do. I love all of you just as my extended family. I am so honored and grateful to be a part of your lives, your very precious lives.
I would like to share with all of you, a letter that I wrote to my kidney donors family. I would hopefully respect that they have the opportunity of reading it one day. 18's, Marty *February 28th 2015* *I write this to the family of the young man that gave of himself in order that I can survive.* *It has been four days since I received a kidney transplant from your loved one. I am in pain right now but I want to write this without any pain medication because I would like to have a clear mind so that I can speak to you from my heart and soul.* *It is very important to me to be able to write this to you, and I truly hope that you receive it. I hope that it is something that may give you less hurt in your hearts.* *First, I would like to send you my deepest condolences on the loss of your loved one. When I first got the call from the hospital that there was a matching kidney for me I was very happy. However, I also felt a great deal of guilt that someone had to be deceased in order for me to receive this very precious gift of life.* *I believe that there is a reason for everything that happens in this world. Sometimes we may not understand what these reasons are, and sometimes it hurts, but there is a reason for everything.* *I also believe that if someone does something to try and help someone else then it will come back to that person. More than twenty five years ago I had Leukemia and had to go through a bone marrow transplant. In order to do this I had to have total body radiation and chemotherapy.* *I remember the first time that I went into the radiation chamber. I got down on my knees, clasped my hands in front of me and made a promise to GOD. I prayed that if I were to survive I would go on to try and help others also go through this.* *And, this is something that I have done more than one hundred times since. This is what I meant when I said that if you try to help someone it will come back to you. This is what your loved one did for me. He has given me the opportunity to continue on, and even though I do not know his name I will continue to do this in his name. GOD knows exactly who he is, and I promise you that I will continue to dedicate my life to your loved one for giving of him to me.* *I truly hope that you will eventually receive my letter.
