I forgot in my previous post to ask if ya'll watched the recent PBS special
on Cancer. It was really fascinating, I thought. They had Dr. Druker on
towards the end of the 2nd in the series and how Gleevec was developed.
But, my take was this, had it not been for the research and development
that went into developing the drug "Herceptin" for Breast Cancer, I don't
think we would have had Gleevec so soon. Soooo, we have those R & D
people to thank as well, because their research that went into isolating
certain genes is what led Dr. Druker to wondering if they could do the same
thing for people with CML. I wished I could have watched the whole
series, I think that there were about 3 nights worth (2 hours each). What
I saw, it was a well done series.

Have a great day,

Suzieq
