My husband (the CML warrior) has been on Medicare for 13 years and has Part D
coverage. Once he gets through the donut hole and into catastrophic coverage,
the first month, his part of payment is around $200 a month. He does have to
pay the deductible for Part D and a bit more that I can’t remember what it is
for….. usually amounts to close to $1000. If that is unmanageable for you, I
would suggest you look into Healthwell Foundation. You can Google them. You
will have to fill out some forms, but they are very easy to deal with. I might
also add that when you are looking for Part D coverage, especially look at the
% you will pay on drugs that are not common (can’t remember the word they have
for it). That varies from insurance company to company from 45% to 25%. Of
course, you want a company that has the smaller percent. Hope this is of some
