Thanks Alex. A while back, someone posted a link to a German site..that
listed many products with features. Does anyone remember the post?

Subject: RE: [cms-list] CMS Product Feature Matrix

That's quite hard to find, since vendors tend to put rather vague
concepts and features in ghos matrices, so they are not very valuable.
There was a project on CMS-List to create such a matrix, where vendors
would have to fit into categories defined by us, but it didn't quite
work. I don't know if there is any other out there.

Mike and Alex,

The CMS Conference at the Fourth Institutional Web Management Workshop in Bath, England, produced a huge Feature List (80 items)
http://www.bris.ac.uk/ISC/cms/

Bob Boiko's book (Content Management Bible) can be used to sort out a great list of requirements for a CMS proposal or response to an RFP.

I am drafting a really short list for a short talk on CMS at the Nonprofits - Technology Enterprise Network Conference in Boston November 20.

Criticisms and suggestions welcome.
