shiva,

question is: what do you want the search engine to search and index?

if it is *only* the content residing within the CMS, inktomi search (IES)
offers connectors to many of the big-name CMS systems (interwoven,
documentum, etc.) that allows you to easily integrate the search engine.

i also know that there are bundles with certain CMS, like obtree.

we started using IES 5 in a new project. installing and setting up IES is
relatively easy (takes about 30 minutes). then you point it to a URL, and
off the spider goes.

if you use a different CMS solution than the big brands, pretty good results
can also be achieved by "simply" spidering the site (letting the spider
follow all links) and using meta data for classification and relevancy
calculations.

search engine

Hi all,

Can anybody tell me how to integrate a search engine with a content
management system?

We are using Inktomi search engine and Interwoven for content management
system.
Both are installed on linux.
I also want to know the issues also involved in this integration .

Thanx
Shiva
