Shiva,

We have a number of clients who have integrated our CMS, Site Executive,
with various search engines, including Google and Inktomi. As a ColdFusion
based CMS, our standard product offering takes advantage of the Verity
search engine that ships with CF professional. Many of our clients in the
higher education market have multiple web properties that represent various
colleges, schools, or research centers within the overall university. For
that reason, they have gone to the enterprise search engines, so as not to
limit their search capability to just the sites under content management,
but to access the content across all of these properties.

An example of an Inktomi integration can be found at
http://commprojects.jhsph.edu/search/.

An example of a university using Google's search appliance can be found at
http://www.loyola.edu/search.html.

Hope this helps - feel free to contact me if you would like more specifics
as to how these were deployed within the context of the CMS, or if you would
like specific information for your case study.

Thanks,
Mike

Subject: [cms-list] Casestudy required for integrating CMS with a search
engine.

Hi,
I need a casestudy of a project in which content management system is
integrated with a search engine.
Any pointers will be helpful for me.

Thanx
