Hi Tom,

I think there could be two issues here.

The first is personalisation which I don't believe is the subject of your
query.

The second is device support, or to be more precise "Browser" support. You
are no doubt aware that despite the wonderful marketing picture painted by
many CMS vendors, the reality is that code needs to be put into most CMS
implementations to detect the browser version. Most developers now take this
for granted. Checking if it is a Netscape or IE browser, which version of
the browser is available, before selecting the actual template to be applied
to the content that is sent to the device.

My understanding (from creating one WML / WAP site) is that the Phone's
browser can be interrogated by the server for its characteristics just like
the Netscape / IE. This enables logic on the server to only send valid
information to the phone.

I believe a better question for the List, is to ask would you all support
asking vendors to provide the Browser variation support within their product
...that is one Template for one set of Content and the CMS make the results
of that template work on all Browsers ?

Regards, Dave
