Hello Nik, > Side note: URL rewriting is dirty and nasty in my book, but it's the only way to get links followed by the major search engines. > Google for example stops at any ? in a URL, so many CMS's only get their entry page indexed by search bots.
I believe this was true in the past but not true anymore. Searching in Google, I remember seeing entries including the ? parameter in the URL. I checked and I saw following entries are indexed on Google: www.cmsinfo.org/article.php3?story_id=27 www.cmswatch.com/Features/OpinionWatch/ FeaturedOpinion/?feature_id=57 www.liberation.com/page.php?Article=37980 I even saw one URL with 2 parameters indexed on Google. www.tridion.com/es/News/PressReleases/ ayuntamiento_reus.asp?ComponentID=5628&SourcePageID=5269 Funny, I thought at this moment only 1 parameter was supported for indexing (I would try to stick with 1 parameter anyway). Obviously the call to the page with the parameter must be explicit from another webpage (like any static webpage). Regards, Franck -- http://cms-list.org/ more signal, less noise.
