Maybe I was scared off by the one forum-enabled CMS we saw - the vendor
wanted $50,000 for a forum module that didn't have all the features of Web
Crossing, which costs something like $900 - and which supports SMTP, NNTP
(ah, NNTP!) and XML-RPC. The last one brings up some interesting
possibilities in terms of integration with CMSes, personalization/user
databases and the like.
